One of the most interesting careers, at risk, maybe?, yes?, no?

The question still remains, "do we still need journalists when people are becoming their own journalists?" I though long and hard about whether or not I think journalism is important or can it be replaced by social media. As you commented on my previous post, it made me reach this conclusion, journalists are still needed especially for gate-keeping because without them, information and news will lose its sense of credibility. In order for them to remain relevant in this new era, they need to integrate social media in their practice, so I decided to be my own journalist, to see how people respond to the thought of social media vs journalism. The videos below is what people said regarding this topic: It is very interesting to see that people do not see social media as a treat to journalism and still believe that it is a very important career. What do you think about this issue?

Can social media replace jounalism in this new era?

Social media has become a great source of information with sites where people can talk to each other directly and indirectly. I can't help but wonder how important are journalists in this new era of social media and whether or not we really need them to be the source of information.
